Professional Experience:
Summer Crump brings a unique blend of analytical rigor and compassionate advocacy to her legal practice. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Old Dominion University in 2004, with minors in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Psychology. Becoming a licensed EMT during her undergraduate studies provided her access to hands-on clinical experiences early in her career. Following the completion of her undergraduate degree, Summer was admitted to Eastern Virginia Medical School’s prestigious MPA Program, where she was the recipient of the Paragon Award in 2007 for her outstanding achievements.
Summer went on to gain significant clinical experience, practicing medicine in various medical specialties, including internal medicine, emergency medicine, ambulatory/urgent care, workers’ comp, family practice, and correctional medicine at multiple hospitals, freestanding emergency departments, and clinics in Washington and throughout the State of Virginia. She also taught Anatomy & Physiology at Tidewater Community College in Chesapeake, Virginia and served as a medical expert for medical malpractice and wrongful death actions.
As her interest in law grew, Summer decided to pursue a career in law and attended Regent University’s School of Law where she received the Ronald L. Fick Book Award in Bioethics. She hung up her stethoscope and integrated her medical knowledge and experience into her legal career, now helping those who have been injured in a different way. Summer is also an advocate for improving the healthcare industry and health care delivery.
As a solo practitioner, Summer offers client-focused representation in Virginia. In her role as a Virginia personal injury lawyer, Summer combines her medical expertise with legal strategies to advocate fiercely for her clients. Having represented both plaintiffs and defendants before founding her own firm, Summer brings a comprehensive perspective that strengthens your case. Her connections with reputable medical experts ensure your case is supported by credible sources and evidence.
Other Professional/Volunteer Experience:
Summer is a dedicated advocate both in and out of the legal sphere. She has served as a volunteer and motivational speaker for national and local organizations and outreach programs in multiple states across the country. Her work has empowered children and adults with communication and physical challenges to overcome barriers, particularly those aspiring to careers in science and medicine. From 2010 to 2019, Summer owned and operated a successful real estate venture, managing property acquisition, rehabilitation, and rentals in Virginia and Florida. She also serves as a member of the Supreme Court of Virginia’s Medical Malpractice Review Panel (MMRP).
Personal:
When not practicing law, Summer prioritizes time with family. She married her elementary school sweetheart, and they have two children. Together, they cherish building new memories, volunteering, attending sporting events, traveling, skiing, and playing basketball and volleyball.
Summer is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).
